Mid-Florida RC Club

We are a small radio control aircraft club made up of approximately 80 members that live in and around the Polk City/Lakeland Florida area along with a number of snowbird flyers.

The club maintains its status as an AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) Chartered Club and requires all members to be members of the AMA.

The club promotes the technical advancement in the field of remote control model aviation, encourages the development of each member's personal skill levels in building and flying remote control aircraft and promotes fellowship among its members.

The club site sits on a 13 acre plot with a beautifully maintained airfield and covered pavilion.  The GEOTEX and grass runway has a north/south orientation with a rather large buffer on each end.

Flyers of all type of RC aircraft and all skill levels are welcome.

Members can be found at the field almost any time of the year. The pavilion is used by flyers and guests to beat the heat.

The club welcomes beginners as well as seasoned pilots.  The club participates in the AMA Intro Pilot Program and has several Intro Pilot Instructors available to guide new pilots in the hobby. There are also many members willing to assist and mentor new flyers.
